The Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation has awarded grants totaling over $1 billion since 1954. We steward resources by following donor intent and operate with a lean staff and overhead, which allows us to devote more resources to grants. More than 97% of the Foundation’s annual spending goes directly to grantmaking.
