Upperclassmen mentor first year students in a program called “Pate Pals,” which includes regular check-ins and goal-setting sessions
Students lead the cohort themselves and organize programs, such as a professional development workshop where scholars had headshots taken and community service activities, to create a sense of belonging
Actively follows recipients throughout their student careers; provides recognition and additional support
Includes exit interview for LPW scholars regarding employment, career goals, and what it means to be an LPW scholar
