Cohort Highlights:

  • Make large, full-tuition awards to enable students with the greatest need to attend college with no debt upon graduation

  • Focus on students who face significant barriers to college enrollment and completion

  • LPW awards accompanied by a work study component to assist students with spending money annually

  • Students are supported through the Student Success Center – they flag students with a 2.5 GPA in any class and engage them in weekly monitoring/tutoring overseen by an academic advisor

  • Special programs and activities have included monthly meetings, bi-monthly LPW peer group meetings, professional development events, and service projects

  • Each student is assigned a female staff member as a mentor to help them adapt to adult life and provide guidance about careers, daily life, and balancing work and personal priorities.
